Classic Link from Hyrule Warriors

To celebrate the announcement of Hyrule Warriors Legends on the 3DS during Nintendo’s E3 digital event, as we reported last week a Classic Tunic costume for Link was added to the already released Wii U version of Hyrule Warriors as a small free update!

Make the jump to check out footage of the new nostalgia trip in costume form!

As you can see from the above footage, the new FREE costume addition to 2014’s Hyrule Warriors harkens back to the classic tunic Link donned in the original The Legend of Zelda for the NES. The image shown at the start of the article even mimics the kneeling position of Link’s from some of the original 1985 artwork!

I discovered a rather strange fact. Did you know that The Legend of Zelda wasn't originally going to be called that? It went through many phases, and some theorize that the game "could" have been called The Legend of Christ. (That would explain Link's shield.) Although there's little information about what it would have been like. But as we know, Nintendo didn't want to get into trouble with religious groups. And so, the most iconic saga of all, "The Legend of Zelda," was born.

Who doesn't remember this great Link? the classic Link, another of the great warriors who have the spirit of the Hero within them. Embark with this Skin on the most dangerous adventures of San Andreas!
